Custom Saunas

HeatCraft warrants its custom saunas against defects in materials and workmanship arising during normal use. This warranty applies to the original purchaser and runs from the date of delivery.
1. Cover and period
Private customers: 3 years, covering parts and labour.
Commercial installations: 2 years, covering parts only.
A sauna is treated as a commercial installation where it is installed in, or made available to the users of, a business, gym, hotel, spa, guest house, or rental or short-term accommodation property, or is otherwise used to provide a service to third parties. This is determined by how the sauna is used, not by who bought it.
Where the buyer is a consumer, the legal guarantee under Decreto-Lei n.º 84/2021 applies in any event and is not reduced by this page.
2. Heaters and electrical components
Heaters, controls and electrical components supplied by us are covered on the same terms. Claims relating to these are handled by HeatCraft. You do not need to contact the heater manufacturer.
Connection of the sauna to the property's electrical supply is not carried out by HeatCraft and must be done by a qualified electrician. Faults arising from that connection are not covered.
3. What you must do
This warranty applies only where the sauna has been maintained in accordance with the care instructions supplied at installation. In summary:

treat exterior timber at the intervals stated in the care sheet;

keep the ventilation grilles clear and unobstructed;

clean the interior after use and keep benches dry;
-
have the electrical installation inspected at the interval stated in the care sheet;

do not alter or modify the sauna or its components.
Keep a record of maintenance carried out. We may ask to see it when assessing a claim.
4. What is not covered
-
Natural characteristics of timber, including variation in grain and colour, and movement, checking, splitting or surface change caused by heat, humidity, sun, rain or salt air. Each sauna is individually handmade and minor variation is inherent.

Greying, weathering or deterioration of exterior surfaces over time.

Denting, scratching or marking of wood surfaces.

Damage caused by moving, relocating, dismantling or modifying the sauna after installation.

Damage caused by electrical work carried out by anyone other than HeatCraft or a contractor engaged by us.

Damage caused by installation on a base that was not prepared to the specification we supplied.
-
Damage from failure to follow the care instructions, including untreated timber, blocked vents or neglect.

Damage from misuse, abuse, accident, or use outside the temperatures and session times in the manual.

Damage from use of chemicals, oils or substances not recommended by us.
-
Damage from fire, flood, storm, lightning, power surge, pests, theft or other external events.

Consumable and wear items, including sauna stones, light bulbs and heating elements.
-
Repairs or attempted repairs by anyone other than HeatCraft or an agent approved by us.
-
Any sauna where the price has not been paid in full.
5. How we repair
Where a claim is accepted, we will repair or replace the affected part at our option.
We attend on site free of charge within 50 km of Estoril. Beyond 50 km, travel is charged at the rate set out in our Shipping and Delivery Policy. For smaller component faults we may instead send a replacement part with fitting instructions.
Repaired goods carry an additional 6 months of guarantee, up to a maximum of four repairs, in accordance with Decreto-Lei n.º 84/2021.
6. Limits
This warranty applies to the original purchaser and does not pass to a subsequent owner.
Except for liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, our liability under this warranty is limited to the purchase price of the sauna. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

your maintenance record.
8. Your legal rights
This warranty is in addition to your rights under Portuguese and EU consumer law, and does not affect them. Consumers have a legal guarantee of conformity under Directive (EU) 2019/771 and Decreto-Lei n.º 84/2021, which is set out in clause 20 of our Terms and Conditions.
