  • How does the cleaning process work?
Our ice bath has a 3 stage filtration system consisting of two sediment filters and a UV filter to ensure optimal performance. The water in your ice bath circulates through both filter types, with the sediment filter keeping the water clear and the UV filter eliminating pathogens. A clean system is essential for efficient operation; any blockage can disrupt water circulation and result in dirty water.

Avoid chlorine, bromine or any other strong chemicals. We recommend just warm water and a cloth.
  • How do I empty my ice bath?
You can use any submersible pump, attached to a hose pipe for draining into a designated area.

Our filters can just be washed. Rinse visible scum with a hosepipe, soak in a chlorine solution, rinse again, and let them dry.
  • How often do I need to clean the filters?
We recommend cleaning them every 6 months, depending on the use of the ice bath. This can vary a lot, for commercial installations we recommend cleaning the filter every 2 months.
  • Why is my water not crystal clear any more?
Possible reasons include the need for a filter change, a new UV bulb or some water flow issues.
  • How often should I change the water in my Arctic Ice Bath Cold Plunge?
We recommend changing the water every 4 weeks if you are plunging every day for residential use. Some only change it every 6 months, others only once a year and say that is totally fine. We suggest you follow your own rules here. To extend the time between water changes, ensure that you take a shower before entering the ice bath. This is especially important if you are using a sauna or exercising directly before the cold plunge. If you are a commercial center, you may need to change water daily / weekly based on your use. If you are a commercial center, demand that every one of your customers shower (especially after sauna or exercise) before entering the ice bath.
  • How can I change the water?
Your ice bath comes with a drainage connection next to the filter system. You can drain the ice bath in 15 minutes by attaching it to a garden hose. Just refill it (~15 minutes, depending on water pressure) and give it time to reach the desired temperature setting, and you're good to go! The last 1-3 cm of water need to be removed with a sponge or towel.
  • How do I use a sauna properly?
Before sauna: Shower and dry off (dry skin sweats faster). Session 1: Stay for 8–10 minutes, or as long as comfortable. Use a towel to protect the wood and choose your bench based on temperature preference. Cooling down: After heating, cool with cold water starting at your ankles, avoiding lukewarm water to maintain the Kneipp effect. Resting: Relax in fresh air, stay warm, and hydrate. Breaks should last 30–45 minutes. Additional sessions: Up to 3 sessions of 8–15 minutes each are recommended.
  • How do I clean and maintain the sauna?
Always shower and use a towel during sauna use to protect the wood. Ventilate the sauna thoroughly after use. Clean only when the sauna is cool. Use a damp (not wet) cloth with a sauna cleaner to wipe surfaces. Avoid high-pressure cleaners or water hoses.
  • How do I remove heavy dirt?
For untreated solid wood, fine sandpaper (160-grain) can remove stains. Thermal wood cannot be sanded. Clean surfaces occasionally with a damp cloth.

Babies can safely sauna from 4 months if healthy, but some recommend waiting until 1 year. Always monitor children closely during short, mild sessions.
  • Sauna tips for beginners:
Start on the lower benches and avoid staying too long. Finish by cooling off with a cold shower or plunge (if suitable). Always prioritize comfort and leave the sauna if you feel unwell.
  • How often is sauna use healthy?
Weekly sauna visits strengthen the immune system, metabolism, and cardiovascular health. Studies show that frequent sauna use (4–7 times/week) reduces cardiovascular mortality by up to 70%.
  • How long should a sauna session last?
Sessions should last 8–15 minutes to promote sweating, detoxification, and circulation. First sessions are best kept to 8–10 minutes.
  • Why take a cold shower after the sauna?
Cold showers stimulate circulation, increase blood pressure, and train the cardiovascular system. Avoid immersion if you have high blood pressure.

Infusions (pouring water over stones) increase humidity and heat briefly. Use essential oils sparingly to enhance relaxation. Start infusions during the second session.
  • Are there any hidden costs when buying a sauna at Arctic Monks?
No. You will receive a fully installed, functional sauna, including any selected extras. However, electrical connections to your main board must be done by a certified electrician, and firewood (if using a wood-fired oven) is not included.

Depending on size, ongoing orders, and wood delivery, the process typically takes 2–6 weeks.
  • Is a down payment required?
